We are all certainly in interesting times. I hope that the COVID-19 lockdown and implications haven't affected your club too much, nor your loved ones.
Obviously gatherings and events are impossible but hopefully you have embraced tools like Google Meet or Zoom to catch up as a committee or as a social group. These tools are relatively inexpensive (or free) and it can work really well. A wine club that I'm a member of had a fun catchup last week - the best thing was that we didn't have to drive home afterwards!
We are all also working remotely, that has it's own challenges but we are settling into a good routine with a video link-up catchup each day and constant chat among the team.
So we have a special release that the team has put together to help clubs engage with their members during these 'isolation' times. It's a mini-release, just three key changes, but with a lot of bang to help your club during these times.
The events change is small but can be super useful. Under the 'Location' tab there is a spot where you can put in a Video Conference/Meeting Link. When you have a link in this field it will show in the Member Jungle App and on the website page for that event, if the person has registered or purchased a ticket for the event. It will also go out in the registration email.
If you add the meeting link after registrations, you can use the 'Email Attendees' facility to advise all attendees and there are two new dynamic fields; a Join Video Meeting Button [[video_conference]] and a Video Meeting URL [[video_conference_url]] that you can inject into the email contents.
In addition, if a member adds the Event to their calendar in the Member Jungle App, it will also add the Video Conference link to the Calendar entry.
A few months ago we released our Chat module in the Member Jungle App which a few clubs have really taken to during this period of non 'face-to-face' meetings.
You can also be part of the Chat conversations using your desktop browser with our new web chat functionality available to clubs. As an admin you simply create a Page on your website and allocate it to the Chat module and make it accessible to your members.
We recommend you also use the 'Security' settings for that page and limit the page to only be accessible to members or the subset of members who use the Chat facility.
There is now a new Videos Module that will be available to clubs. This module allows you to upload videos that can be then viewed on your website. Great for simple instructional videos or recordings of webinars for your members.
Upload your videos, create a Video page on your website (and possibly secure it to just your members) and you have your own video You-tube! (Just be aware that the videos could still be saved/downloaded).
The Videos and Web Chat facilities typically will be available in only the Standard and Premium packages however they are available to ALL Member Jungle clubs for the next six months to help you during the 'Isolation Period'.
